My condo is about seven years old, in a quiet, friendly neighborhood with very pleasant neighbors. The condo is close to public transportation. There is easy access to many services like a shopping mall and the downtown area shops. La Verbena II (name of the building) is out of the way, yet you can be in the thick of it all any time you wish, with an inexpensive five or ten minute taxi ride. There is city bus service only three short blocks away. The city is building a tram that will run very close by.
Four walls can make you feel closed in sometimes. Do you need a little outside greenery? Fresh air? La Verbena has a large deck with table and chairs and a secure, private, grass yard. While you are out there, enjoy the breath-taking view of Cuenca. Or take in the spectacular night view from your bedroom window.
June through September are the cool months in Cuenca. Don't worry, there is never any snow or ice here, except in your drink. You will be warm enough walking about shopping or sight-seeing. And you will know that my La Verbena condo has heated floors. You can return home after a long day of being a tourist, turn on the TV, take off your shoes, and warm your feet in one of the few heated apartments in Cuenca! Or you can sit out on the patio and watch the city lights turning on.
Two bus routes are within a three block walk. A supermaxi is a few blocks down the hill. Many of our guests have enjoyed walking downtown and returning by taxi.
